Meet our team at Thornhill Dental Centre

Dr. Koochek qualified as a dental surgeon from University of Wales College of Medicine Dental School, Cardiff, in 1999. As well as his BDS dental degree, he was awarded a BSc (Honours) degree in Dental Sciences and also achieved a number of academic distinctions and clinical national prizes. Following this, he was made an honorary member of the alumni association of clinicians of the American Dental Association (ADA).

After working in a Cardiff dental practice for a year, Dr. Koochek moved to London and applied his skills in the restorative and maxillofacial surgery departments at Guy’s & St.Thomas’ Hospitals. He was awarded the Membership of the Faculty of Dental Surgery of the Royal College of Surgeons of England (MFDS RCS Eng.) in 2001, and became an associate member of the Faculty of General Dental Practitioners of the Royal College of Surgeons of England (FGDP RCS Eng.) in the same year.

Dr. Koochek has written a number of papers in American and British peer-reviewed dental journals. He continually keeps up to date with all the modern techniques and latest advances in dentistry. He completed a one-year qualification in Dental Implant Surgery in 2007 at Cardiff Dental School. His main interests include cosmetic dentistry, implant dentistry, Invisalign (certified in 2005) and facial aesthetics.

Dr. Gracias qualified as a dental surgeon in 1998 from the University Of Wales College Of Medicine. After working in general practice and teaching in numerous hospitals he moved to our sister practice, Cathays Dental Clinic, in late 2000.

Dr. Gracias has gained a reputation for clinical excellence in aesthetic dentistry and is an associate member of the British Academy of Cosmetic Dentists, as well as an associate member of the Faculty of General Dental Practitioners of the Royal College of Surgeons of England (FGDP RCS Eng).

In 2006 he appeared in a television commercial and national advertising campaign promoting Sensodyne toothpaste. Dr. Gracias has a Diploma in Postgraduate Dental Studies and has completed a Certificate in Dental Implant Surgery. His main interests include cosmetic dentistry, facial aesthetics, Invisalign (certified in 2005) and dental implants.

Tracey has been involved in dentistry for more than 30 years as a dental nurse, receptionist and finally a practice manager, a role which she has been performing exceptionally well for the last 15 years. She is responsible for the operations and smooth running of the practice and ensuring everyone in the practice works as one to safely deliver our services.

Tracey is dedicated to enhancing the patient experience. She continually seeks ways to improve our service delivery to better meet our patients' dental needs. She takes pleasure in working with patients to plan their treatments and supports them with non-medical aspects throughout their journey to a new smile.

Tracey enjoys travelling and has lived in Australia and South Africa for large parts of her life but now considers Spain her second home!

Rebecca is our longest serving member of staff, having worked for our sister practice for 20 years. She is a very experienced dental nurse who has developed a deep understanding of her profession. She possesses a wealth of knowledge and expertise that allows her to excel in her role and provide exceptional patient care.  

Rebecca's abilities and proficiency in dentistry are a testament to her dedication and commitment to her profession. She is a true people person and understands the importance of making patients feel comfortable and at ease during their dental appointments. Rebecca chose this career because of her passion for dentistry, and she is committed to providing the highest quality of care to all her patients.  

Aside from her love of dentistry, Rebecca also enjoys the company of the people she works with. She is a dedicated team player, always willing to lend a helping hand to her colleagues. Her enthusiasm and positivity make her a pleasure to work with, and her commitment to excellence in patient care makes her an invaluable member of our team.

Carly is a highly skilled dental nurse and has been an integral part of the team since 2005. Throughout her time with us, Carly has developed a deep passion for all aspects of dental nursing. She finds every aspect of the job fascinating, from the technical and clinical aspects of dentistry to the interpersonal relationships she builds with patients.

Carly loves working with her colleagues; the supportive and collaborative environment has enabled her to learn and grow in her role as a dental nurse, allowing her to provide the best possible care for her patients.

Highly motivated by helping people achieve healthy, confident smiles, Carly believes that dental care is essential for overall health and wellbeing. She is committed to providing high quality, patient-centred care to everyone who walks through the door.

Sharon joined the team as a receptionist in January 2024. Her passion for helping patients achieve their dream smiles soon motivated her to pursue dental nursing. After witnessing the confidence boost that cosmetic dental treatments bring to our patients, Sharon enrolled in an NVQ program to become a qualified dental nurse.

Sharon holds both a Bachelor's and a Master's degree in Music, and she can compose music for the piano and violin. Outside of the practice, she offers music lessons to her students. Sharon is also fluent in Mandarin and Cantonese. Her dedication to patient care and her friendly personality make her a valuable asset to our team.

Ameilia joined the practice as a receptionist in March 2024. However, she immediately enrolled in a dental nursing training program after shadowing our experienced nurses and finding the job fascinating.

She is passionate about dentistry and committed to learning and being the best nurse she can be and can already perform many tasks to a high standard.

Outside of work, Ameilia plays ice hockey professionally, representing Great Britain at international competitions. Ameilia is also a fluent Welsh speaker and can assist patients who wish to communicate in Welsh.  

Sian qualified as a dental hygienist from Cardiff Dental School in 1998 and was awarded the Oral B award for outstanding achievements.

Sian is a very experienced hygienist and provides excellent treatment and care for her patients.

Outside of working hours, Sian enjoys spending time with her family and walking their two dogs.
